Web Design Introduction Activity
Return to Technology Studies Home Page
1) Create a folder named "web1-yourname". Place it in your folder.
Every file you create or use for this website must be placed in this folder.
2) Create the following webpages using TextEdit.app (Mac) or Wordpad
(Windows):
Page 1 (File name: "home.html") ...this is your "home"
page
This webpage must contain the following:
- Your name as a heading, centered
- Background color other than white
- Font color other than black
- An image that is relevant to your website homepage
- A hyperlink to each additional page on your site.
- A <head><title></title></head> tag with the page
title in it (including your name)
Page 2 (File name: “favorites.html”)
This webpage contains the following:
- Title: “My Favorites”
- A bulleted list of your favorites. Each of the following category responses
will have a hyperlink connecting to a webpage related to each favorite.
- Favorite Book:
- Favorite Movie:
- Favorite Music:
- Favorite Sport/Team:
- other
- Change the background color and font color.
- A hyperlink returning back to your home page
- A <head><title></title></head> tag with the page
title in it
- Add anything else that you choose that is relevant.
Page 3 (File name: “pictures.html”)
This webpage contains the following:
- Title: “My Pictures”
- A table displaying your pictures. Your pictures will be created
by altering your photo using photo editing software. Your table and pictures
must follow the criteria listed below:
- Your table must be a 3 by 3 grid (9 pictures)
- Your table must have a width of 600px
- Your table must be centered
- Your pictures must be square (200px by 200px or smaller)
- Each picture must be unique (different from one another)
- Change the background color and font color.
- A hyperlink returning back to your home page
- A <head><title></title></head> tag with the page
title in it
- Add anything else that you choose.

Page 4 (File name: “me.html”, this file will be located
inside subfolder: "allaboutme")
You will get a template folder and files to use in order to create the All
Anout Me section.

- Where I stand...
- Where I go...
- What I do...
