Creating a Transparent Image using LiveQuartz
This tutorial will help you to eliminate part of an image
so that we can "see through" to the background.
Using LiveQuartz
- Open LiveQuartz.

- Drag & Drop an image file (.jpg, .png, .gif, .jp2, etc.) into
the LiveQuartz window.

- Delete the background by using the eraser
or background eraser
or by selecting an area with the select or lasso tool
,
then pressing the delete key.
>
The transparent area becomes a checkerboard.
- Save your file in the PNG(.png), TIFF(.tiff) or GIF (.gif) format
with a new file name.
**SAVE YOUR FILES INTO YOUR (FINDER) FOLDER.
DO NOT SAVE YOUR EDITED FILES INTO iPHOTO.
