Creating a Transparent Image using LiveQuartz
This tutorial will help you to eliminate part of an image
so that we can "see through" to the background.

Using LiveQuartz
1. Open LiveQuartz.
   
   
2. Drag & Drop an image file (.jpg, .png, .gif, .jp2, etc.) into the LiveQuartz window.
   
   
3. Delete the background by using the eraser or background eraser
   or by selecting an area with the select or lasso tool ,
   then pressing the delete key.
   >
   
   The transparent area becomes a checkerboard.
   
   
4. Save your file in the PNG(.png), TIFF(.tiff) or GIF (.gif) format
   
   
   with a new file name.
   
   
   **SAVE YOUR FILES INTO YOUR (FINDER) FOLDER.
   DO NOT SAVE YOUR EDITED FILES INTO iPHOTO.
