Hyperlinked PowerPoint:

You will be making a hyperlinked PowerPoint
following the design model of a web page.

The audience of your "website" should be able to easily
navigate throughout your pages using

Learning Target: I can create a website-like presentation of a selected topic that looks and functions like a website.

  1. Open a new PowerPoint file.
Save as topic + your name (for example: china steve glickman).
    Save in your folder.
  2. Create a home page, including:
    • Title of topic
    • Image(s) representing the topic
    • Website created by...Student name & date
    • Hyperlinks connecting to ALL of your information pages
  3. Create 3 or more information pages about the topic. Each page must contain:
    • Summary of the major points
    • Images matching the major points
    • Hyperlinks to all of your pages
    • If your topic was a world culture, your page topic choices might include:
      • Geography (include maps with major physical features labeled)
      • Social Life
      • Religion
      • Government/Dynasties
      • Language
      • Achievements & Inventions
    • If your topic was a historical figure, your page topic choices might include:
      • Statistics (Name, years lived, Birthplace, Raised, Best Known As:, etc.)
      • Life Summary Timeline
      • Why was this person important?
      • Maps of where this person lived
      • Achievements
      • Little Known Facts
    • Generally, you can assume that every topic requires careful consideration when choosing what to include in your information pages. Generally, though, you will want to include the following:
      • Summary of Topic
      • Why is this topic important? ...important today?
      • Images (Be sure to credit your images sources!)
      • Time Line
      • Maps
      • Important Facts (Be sure to credit your information sources! Don't "steal" information and claim that you wrote it!)
      • Anything else that is relevant to your topic
  4. Create a design with the following elements:
    • Consistent color scheme
    • Consistent layout
    • Consistent hyperlinks design & location
    • Minimal sound & animation, if any
    • Should look & function like a webpage
