Email Attachments

  • I can use email as a means of communicating with others on the Web.
  • I can transfer saved files by attaching files to an email.

We often find ourselves unable to get a file from one computer to another due to the wide variety of removable disks that are used with computers. We will learn to use email to send files over the Web by emailing ourselves the file we wish to transfer "attached" to the email.

Part 1: Emailing

There are many email services available on the Web.
At Crossroads we will use the Think.com email service.

Part 2: Create a File...Send it to Mr. Glickman

  1. Download this Computer Studies Survey.
  2. (right-click > Download File or Save Target As)
  3. Complete the survey and save it in the My Documents folder using the file name "survey + your name."

  4. Attach the completed file to an email to Mr. Glickman and to yourself. Be sure to write a brief message explaining what you are sending and enter a relevant subject line.

Check your email (after several minutes) to see if you have received your email and attachment. Whenever you are ready to work on it again, download the file and continue working. Of course, if you are still working on the same computer where you saved the file, just reopen the file and continue...no need to complicate things.
