    Writing with a Text Box
  1. Click the text box tool in the toolbar (or Insert menu > Text Box).

  2. Click & drag on your slide to create the text box.

  3. Move the text box by grabbing the border and dragging it.

  4. Format the text box by selecting the text (or entire text box) and applying any formatting tool.

  1. Click the WordArt tab in the Elements Gallery.

  2. Select the WordArt style from the WordArt Elements Gallery.

  3. Enter text into the WordArt box.

  4. Move the WordArt by grabbing and dragging the border of the WordArt object.

  5. Resize the WordArt by grabbing and dragging a handle (the little squares in the corners).

  6. Format the WordArt by selecting the WordArt object (border or text within) and applying any formatting tool.

    -Format Shape menu (double-click on border of WordArt)

    Inserting a Picture
  1. Create or locate and save an image file into your folder on the hard drive.
  2. Go to the Insert menu, choose Picture, then From File... OR click the Picture button and choose Insert Picture

  3. Browse for your picture file and Insert it.
    Your picture file must be a file type that is compatible with PowerPoint (like .jpg or .gif).

    Changing a slide Background
  1. Go to the Format menu, choose Slide Background.

  2. On the Format Background menu, choose your desired formatting options.


  3. To override Slide Designs, check the Hide background objects box.


  4. Press Apply when finished.
    Do not choose 'Apply All' unless you want every slide to have the same background.

  5. Slide Themes are another option. Be aware that Slide Themes change the design of every slide in your presentation.
