Animating Objects in PowerPoint'08
TIP: Avoid gratuitous animation effects. Only use animation to help guide the audience through your presentation.

1. Select the object you wish to animate. (Click on it).
   
   
2. On the Slide Show menu, choose Custom Animation or go directly to the Custom Animation tab in the Toolbox.
   OR
   
   
3. Click on one of the 'Add Effect' tabs & choose an animation.
   I recommend using the Entrance animations (green star).
   
   
   
   
4. If you choose 'More Effects...,' choose from the additional menu and click OK.
   
   
   
5. Adjust the additional animation options, as needed.
   Leave 'Start:' set to 'On Click' unless linking objects together.
   
   
   
6. Adjust the animation order using the arrows.
   
   
   
7. Test the animation sequence by running the slideshow in Slide Show mode.
   
   
   
8. Exit Slide Show mode by pressing the esc button on the keyboard.
