Community

At its core, The Crossroads School is a community of learners made up of students, teachers, and parents. As a community we create a school culture that is rooted in the concepts of respect, responsibility, and teamwork. From our morning meetings until our closing exercises, each day is organized around experiences that send consistent messages about our respect for learning and learners, the importance of being responsible, global citizens, and the value of teamwork and cooperative inquiry.

As a community of learners, our school is designed to meet the needs of middle school students in ways that encourage the patterns and habits of lifelong learners. Teachers at The Crossroads School teach the basics of reading, writing, science, and math through a challenging set of interconnected, real world projects called Learning Expeditions. This approach strengthens our community by enabling meaningful connections to be made between people, ideas, and the world.
